Dubai Scholars Student Support Services

At Dubai Scholars Private School, the Student Support Services (SSS) department forms a key pillar of our commitment to nurturing every learner’s wellbeing, growth, and future readiness. The department brings together three interconnected domains — Student Wellbeing, Career Guidance, and Student Leadership — ensuring that every student feels supported, heard, and empowered to thrive both in school and beyond.

1. Student Wellbeing and Counselling

Our team of qualified Student Wellbeing Counsellors provides a safe, confidential, and nurturing space where students can explore personal challenges, build resilience, and develop essential emotional literacy. Through one-to-one guidance, group sessions, and awareness initiatives, we foster mental wellbeing, emotional regulation, and a culture of care across the school community.

Key initiatives include:

  1. Mental Health and Happiness Week programmes
  2. Peer support and anti-bullying campaigns
  3. Social-emotional learning workshops and wellbeing surveys
  4. Close collaboration with parents and teachers to reinforce a positive school climate
2. Career Guidance and University Counselling

The Career Guidance Department helps learners make well-informed choices about their academic pathways and future careers. Our structured programme begins in Year 4 and continues through to Year 13, guiding students as they connect their strengths, interests, and ambitions with real-world opportunities.

Programmes and platforms:

  1. My Compass Today (Years 4–9): Early exposure to self-discovery, goal setting, and career awareness
  2. ISMOJO (Years 10–13): Advanced psychometric tools for career profiling and university planning

Key services include:

  1. Stream and subject selection counselling at IGCSE and A Levels
  2. Career workshops, fairs, and university information sessions
  3. Support with university documentation, including Letters of Recommendation, Predicted Grades, and Transcripts
  4. Personalised guidance for international university applications
3. Student Council and Leadership Development

The Student Council represents the voice of the learners, promoting collaboration, student advocacy, and active participation in school life. Guided by the motto “By the Students, From the Students, For the Students,” the Council provides meaningful opportunities for leadership, teamwork, and social responsibility.

Focus areas include:

  1. Promoting inclusion, tolerance, and wellbeing
  2. Leading school-wide initiatives and community outreach
  3. Encouraging student-teacher collaboration through dialogue and events
  4. Cultivating leadership and organisational skills across all phases
Empowering Every Student

The Student Support Services department at Dubai Scholars is dedicated to developing balanced, confident, and future-ready individuals. By integrating wellbeing, career readiness, and leadership development, we ensure that every learner grows with purpose — equipped to make a positive impact in an ever-changing world.
