Welcome from the Head of School
This year marks a very unusual year for Dubai Scholars. Indeed, it does for all schools in the UAE.
While global educational systems around the world have been disrupted, the learning at Dubai Scholars continues. This is as a result of the hard work, and enhancements made to teaching and learning. I commend the faculty, students and parents for this dedication.
Recently, the London based Economist, produced a podcast entitled “Education Disrupted”. The Economist is an international weekly newspaper printed in magazine-format and published digitally that focuses on current affairs, international business, politics, and technology. Across their social media platforms, it reaches an audience of over 35 million.
I am very proud to say that Dubai Scholar’s was recognized in this podcast, as a school that has innovated its approach to learning by its use of technology during the pandemic.
I invite you to listen to this podcast.

One of the digital platforms in our enhanced learning tract is Century Technology. Century Tech is an Artificial Intelligence and Digital learning platform that individualizes and tailors a learning pathway and interventions for our students in English, Maths and Science. The full scope of the National Curriculum of England is organized into chunks called nuggets. We piloted the program in the spring of 2019 and we now in our 5 term of use.
This platform is used around the world by millions of students.
Dubai Scholars is currently one of the top users of this learning platform. Last academic year we were the top user internationally and 2nd place globally of all schools using this technology. Currently, after one completed term, we are on pace to match these results. This equates to approximately 3 million questions answered by our students and over 350 thousand “nuggets” completed. This is a phenomenal amount of content that is covered in English, Maths and Science. In addition, our students made over 20 thousand happy clicks.
The results on student outcomes can be evidenced in two ways.
First, our KHDA inspection judgements have been increasing year on year as evidenced by the chart below. As you can see, there has been a steady increase in our Outstanding to Very Good inspection judgements by the Dubai Schools Inspection Bureau.
Secondly, our benchmarked 4-year whole school GL results from the 2016-17 to 2020 academic years show that the results in English and Math are consistently in the very good range. Whole school results in Science have been consistently outstanding.
GL tests benchmark student attainment against peers nationally(UK) and tracks progress in English, Maths and Science year on year.
Finally, we all pray and have faith that we will find a way out of this pandemic shortly. We all look forward to a resumption with our well-loved traditions.
Regardless, however, the learning at Dubai Scholars continues.
